Happy Earth Day! We are happy to say McHugh tries to do its part by providing our projects with energy efficient solutions. Our own Ambler office building is LEED certified Gold. Buildings like this save money, improve efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and create healthier places for people.
Even though we see lots of great new buildings coming to life, according to @Architecture 2030, “Approximately 2/3 of the global building area that exists today, will still exist in 2040”. We encourage building owners to review their existing building systems and look for cost effective improvements to increase their efficiency and save utility costs in the process. Several cities recently have created policies to require this in some fashion. Specifically, Philadelphia has a policy with several impending dates, which are listed here: https://www.phila.gov/programs/building-energy-performance-program/
